In response to the loss of position to Power 98*, MediaCorp Radio attempts to make a comeback by strengthening their base.
*Latest Nielsen Report showed that Power 98 climbed to the 2nd highest listenership among age 15-34 yr olds, beating 98.7, first time ever in radio history
In an attempt to boost listenership, MediaCorp Radio decided to employ 5 new English DJs comprising of talented musicians and acclaimed creative people. They include: Raven & Vanessa Fernandez (98.7), Wong Li-Lin (Class 95), Clarrisa Monteiro (Gold 90.5), Beatrice Chia-Richmond & Vivian Tan (Lush 99.5).
This strategy indicates strong efforts from MediaCorp Radio. Riding on the credentials of these celebrities , they hope to extend credibility to the stations and attract their existing fan base & more. In addition, these DJs could be ready spokespeople for relevant brands, according to their personalities, thus attracting more advertisers. |
