"All Things Digital" Site by Dow Jones

On May 7, Dow Jones announced the launch of All Things Digital - www.allthingsd.com. The website is devoted to news, analysis and opinion on technology, the Internet and media. The site will be a mixture of columns, blogs, text, and video by co-executive editors Mossberg*, Swisher**, and other experienced journalists. Contributing are also guest bloggers drawn from the leadership of the tech, Internet and media industries.

*Kara Swisher, author of "BoomTown” column in The Wall Street Journal as well as two books about AOL

This collaboration is the online extension of the well known “D: All Things Digital” conference, started by Mossberg and Swisher in 2003. AllThingsD.com is a free site designed to expand and continue the conversation.

Dow Jones Online will handle advertising sales for AllThingsD.com. In addition to the advertising opportunities on the AllThingsD site, there are also cross-network programs that incorporate The Wall Street Journal Online, MarketWatch and Barron’s Online sites, as well as video, podcasts, RSS and mobile.

Today's audience is highly engaged and are drawn to latest technology which enables them speedier news in latest innovative & interactive formats. With increasing advertising spend, Dow Jones is trying to get a bigger pie. They are trying out new forms of journalism and innovative methods of delivering news on the web to capture more audience. This also translates to greater opportunities for the advertiser.

Live Streams on CNBCplus

CNBC has launched a new service - streaming live from its newsdesk if you suscribe to CNBC Plus. For a limited period, CNBC Live is free every Monday from 6am to 4pm. CNBC will be broadcasting CNBC Asia's complete Monday market coverage - Squawk Australia, Squawk Box, CNBC's Cash Flow and Capital Connection.

This trial excercise is to gauge the response of its viewers to digital alternatives. CNBC is setting up its course to see how ready Asia Pacific will embrace paid subscription later on. CNBC Plus currently offers live streams and video on demands at US$9.95 monthly or US$99.95 per annum (promo price).
